Job summary

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is seeking a Software Engineer, Staff, with deep expertise in C/C++ and the Qt framework to develop software for aircraft autopilots and avionics systems in a DoD environment.

You will participate in ground and flight testing, work with a multidisciplinary team, and contribute to digital autpilot systems in a hard real-time setting while benefiting from employee-ownership and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• BS Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
• Minimum 3 years of work experience with C/C++ and Qt.
• Minimum 1 year of related work experience in aircraft avionics.
• Knowledge of Real Time Operating Systems.
• Active DoD Secret Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

As a Software Engineer, Staff, you will:

• Develop software for aircraft autopilots and associated avionics systems.

A week in the life of a Software Engineer, Staff, includes:

• Design, develop, document, test and debug software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions for aircraft autopilots and associated avionics.
• Work with systems engineers, aerospace engineers, electrical engineers, developers and others to develop fully digital autpilot systems.
• Develop Graphical User Interfaces (GUI) as part of our simlation and System Integration Lab environments.
• Develop software using C/C++ and the Qt framework.
• Develop avionics software in a hard real-time environment.
• Develop avionics software in accordance with DO-178C.

Qualifications

Pay Transparency Statement

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $95,000.00/Yr. - USD $110,000/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
