Job summary

Cyngn, based in Mountain View, CA, is deploying autonomous tuggers to factories and warehouses across North America. We seek a CLAM software engineer to advance calibration, localization, and mapping subsystems, collaborating with vehicle, hardware, QA, and other autonomy teams to deliver production-quality software.

Ideal candidates have 2–4 years in robotics, strong C++/Python, and experience with SLAM and state estimation.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in robotics, computer science, or electrical engineering (MS a plus).
• 2–4 years of robotics or autonomous vehicle software experience.
• Strong fundamentals in probability, linear algebra, 3D geometry, and coordinate transforms.
• Familiarity with 3D Lidar-based mapping and localization concepts (LOAM, GICP, FastLIO).
• Experience with ROS2, state estimation, and multi-sensor calibration.

Responsibilities

• Implement, tune, and test mapping, localization, and sensor calibration algorithms in C++ and Python.
• Contribute to tooling and metrics for performance validation and continuous testing.
• Debug and analyze algorithm performance using real-world and simulated data.
• Collaborate with vehicle/infrastructure teams to ensure safe integration and testing.
• Balance tasks, code reviews, and learning to meet milestones in a startup.
• Support deployment of HD maps and localization for autonomous fleets.
