Job summary

Cyngn Inc. in Mountain View, CA is seeking a Software Engineer, Autonomy for the CLAM team to advance calibration, localization, and HD map generation for autonomous vehicles.

You will work on production-quality software and collaborate with vehicle infrastructure, hardware, QA, and other autonomy teams to ensure safe and efficient driving. Ideal candidates have robotics fundamentals, 2–4 years of experience in robotics software, and strong knowledge of C++ and Python.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in robotics, CS, electrical engineering or similar field.
• Solid foundation in probability, linear algebra, 3D geometry, and spatial transforms.
• Experience with 3D Lidar mapping and localization concepts (LOAM, GICP, etc.).
• Experience with ROS2 and modern software development tools.

Responsibilities

• Implement, tune, and test mapping, localization, and sensor calibration algorithms in C++/Python.
• Contribute to tooling and metrics for performance validation and testing.
• Debug algorithm performance using real and simulated data.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate software.
