Job summary

RTX in Cedar Rapids, IA, is seeking a software engineer to develop safety-critical avionics display software. You will design, test, and debug low-level code interfacing with SoC peripherals and hardware buses.

The role covers middleware and application software, build procedures, integration, and collaboration with project teams to meet certification requirements; knowledge of OpenGL SC, Vulkan SC, and ARINC 661 is a plus.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in STEM major by start date.
Experience in embedded C++, bare metal, or Platform Level Software.
Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

Responsibilities

Develop safety-critical software for avionics displays.
Design, develop, document, test, and debug low-level software for SoC peripherals and data exchange via I2C, SPI, PCIe.
Develop middleware and application software containing algorithms.
Perform hardware/software integration, resolve timing, signal integrity, configuration, and power-on sequences.
Design and implement build procedures to support hardware and software development.
Coordinate with project teams to ensure smooth operation of display systems and compliance with requirements and certification processes.
