Job summary

PingWind, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer in Virginia Beach to design, develop, test, and maintain software supporting mission objectives.

You will work with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, secure software adhering to cybersecurity requirements. The role requires proficiency in C/C++, Python scripting, and experience with autonomous navigation tools like QGroundControl, IMUs, GPS, cameras, and LiDAR.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in engineering or science field.
• Secret clearance required but TS/SCI eligible.
• Experience in C/C++ and object-oriented development in Agile teams.

PingWind is seeking a Software Engineer who is responsible for designing, developing, testing, implementing, and maintaining software applications that support organizational and customer mission objectives. This position collaborates with cross-functional teams to develop scalable, secure, and high-quality software solutions while adhering to established software development methodologies, coding standards, and cybersecurity requirements. The Software Engineer participates in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including requirements analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.

Proficient in C, C++, and object-oriented software development methodologies.

• Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver production-ready software in an Agile development environment.
• Extensive knowledge of autonomous navigation and path planning, including: Experience implementing sensor fusion techniques using technologies such as: Inertial Measurement Units (IMUs), Global Positioning System (GPS), Cameras, LiDAR
• Experience using QGroundControl for mission planning, execution, and monitoring.
• Proficient in Python scripting for automation, data analysis, and rapid prototyping.
• Strong understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP protocols.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex network communication issues.
• Skilled in parsing and reverse engineering complex C++ and Python codebases to identify and resolve software and hardware communication issues.
• Experience working with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software.
• Demonstrated ability to build, compile, and deploy software applications from source code.

Bachelor’s Degree
