Job summary

Abode Money in Austin is hiring a Software Engineer who is autonomous, reliable, and calm under pressure to own core systems end to end—from architecture to production reliability.

You'll work directly with the founders on property tax, insurance, and mortgage workflows, building scalable services and turning county rules and edge cases into robust engineering. This role requires 2+ years of hands-on backend/full-stack experience and a passion for AI.

Qualifications

• Austin location or willing to relocate to be onsite.
• 2+ years of engineering experience owning end-to-end systems.
• Strong backend or full-stack foundation with modern languages and cloud infrastructure.
• Are the engineer people go to when something really matters.
• Are genuinely excited about AI and use it every day.

Responsibilities

• Own Core Systems: Build and run the services behind property tax, insurance, mortgage, and more.
• Design for Scale: Build workflows and services that stay resilient as volume grows.
• Structure the Messy: Turn county rules, PDFs, and edge cases into well-structured engineering.
• Make Smart Tradeoffs: Know when speed matters and when reliability does, and make the call.
• Work Cross-Functionally: Collaborate with product, design, and operations to improve user experiences.
