Job summary

Abode Money is hiring a Software Engineer to own the core systems behind property tax, insurance, and mortgage end to end. You will work directly with the founders to design scalable, reliable services and to turn county rules and edge cases into robust software.

The role requires 2+ years of engineering experience with a strong backend or full-stack foundation and comfort with modern languages and cloud infrastructure. Austin-based, in-person work 5 days a week.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of engineering experience owning systems end to end from architecture to production.
• Backend or full-stack foundation with modern languages and cloud infrastructure.
• Comfort in designing for scale and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Own Core Systems: Build and run the services behind property tax, insurance, mortgage, and more.
• Design for Scale: Build workflows and services that stay resilient as volume grows.
• Structure the Messy: Translate county rules and edge cases into structured engineering.
• Make Smart Tradeoffs: Balance speed and reliability in decisions.
• Work Cross-Functionally: Collaborate with product, design, and operations to improve user experiences.
