Job summary

UMATR in the United States is seeking a Software Engineer to join a lean, high-caliber team. You’ll own features from ground up, work with founding team, and ship production-grade software that processes large document workloads.

The role emphasizes autonomy, ambiguity-solving, and building from scratch in a remote-first environment with Texas preference. You’ll collaborate across backend services, APIs, databases and cloud infrastructure to deliver scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience building and shipping production software.
• Experience with document processing, data extraction or unstructured data.
• Experience building automated or agent-based workflows is a strong plus.
• Comfortable working in a small, fast-moving engineering environment.
• Someone who enjoys solving ambiguous problems and building things from scratch.
• A track record of stability and meaningful tenure in previous roles.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship new products and features from 0 → 1.
• Develop systems that ingest, process and extract information from large volumes of documents.
• Build intelligent workflows that can handle complex, multi-step processes.
• Work across backend services, APIs, databases and cloud infrastructure.
• Integrate external services and develop reliable production systems.
• Work closely with product and engineering to turn ideas into scalable solutions.
• Take ownership of projects and contribute to technical and architectural decisions.
