Job summary

UpDoc, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Automation to identify friction across engineering, operations, and compliance and replace it with reliable software. The role focuses on building internal systems and AI-enabled workflows to accelerate UpDoc’s scale.

This is a fully remote position. You will own automation projects end-to-end, automate regulatory workflows, improve CI and tooling, and develop AI-enabled internal workflows combining LLMs with deterministic software.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong Python skills with backend services, APIs, databases, and production systems.
• Ability to turn ambiguous problems into shipped technical solutions.
• Strong judgment around system design, testing, reliability, and maintainability.
• Excellent written and verbal communication across technical and non-technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Own high-leverage automation projects end-to-end from identification to ship.
• Automate regulatory and compliance workflows, including releases and traceability.
• Improve engineering productivity with CI, release tooling, and internal developer tools.
• Build AI-enabled internal workflows combining LLMs with deterministic software.
• Integrate internal and external systems, ensuring testable, observable production software.
