Visionist, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer (AI-Assisted Developer Tooling) in Laurel, MD to design and implement AI-powered IDE features and developer tooling.

Join a mission-focused team delivering tools that automate code reviews, testing, and quality analysis within CI/CD pipelines. You will prototype and evaluate experimental tooling, integrate new tools into existing platforms, and collaborate with customers and colleagues to iterate on solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience.
• 12 years of software development experience.
• Strong software engineering skills in one or more modern programming languages.
• Experience with IDEs, developer tools, or build and test systems.
• Hands-on experience with AI- or LLM-powered developer tools, including chat-based interfaces or automated coding agents.
• Ability to prototype, evaluate, and refine experimental tooling.
• Solid understanding of software development workflows and best practices.

Salary range:

$170,000 - $240,000
