Maxima is hiring a Software Engineer to build core parts of the product, with a focus on backend or frontend. You will ship features end to end with engineers, PMs, and customers, delivering reliable software for enterprise accounting workflows.

We value engineers who take ownership, care about correctness, and enjoy solving real-world problems with tangible impact on finance teams. The role is based in San Mateo and requires in-person collaboration most weeks.

Qualifications

• 2+ years building product at high-growth companies.
• Familiarity with web development, relational databases, and distributed systems.
• Experience with TypeScript, React, Redux, or similar frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Backend focus: build the systems that handle high-volume financial data, accounting workflows, and the infrastructure behind our agentic AI platform.
• Frontend focus: build intuitive, reliable user experiences for complex enterprise workflows, working closely with product and design.
• Ship features end to end with other engineers, product managers, and customers
