Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and support SAP solutions using ABAP 7.4+ and OO ABAP.
• Develop and maintain RICEFW objects including Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms, and Workflows.
• Integrate SAP with non-SAP platforms using RFC, ALE/IDocs, Web Services, Proxies, APIs, SOAP, REST, OData, XML, JSON.
• Design, develop, and maintain CDS Views and AMDP classes for S/4HANA.

About the Opportunity

Epitec is seeking an experienced SAP ABAP Developer to join a high-performing Enterprise Architecture and Foundational Products team focused on SAP Platform API Enablement and Enterprise Enhancements. This role will support enterprise-wide SAP initiatives involving API development, integrations, workflows, forms, reports, and custom enhancements within an S/4HANA environment. The ideal candidate will be a strong technical contributor with deep expertise in SAP ABAP development, OData services, API enablement, and S/4HANA enhancement frameworks, with a proven track record of delivering scalable enterprise solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and support SAP solutions using ABAP 7.4+ and Object-Oriented ABAP.
• Develop and maintain RICEFW objects including Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms, and Workflows.
• Build and support integrations between SAP and non-SAP platforms using:
  • RFC
  • ALE/IDocs

• Design, develop, and maintain CDS Views and AMDP classes for S/4HANA solutions.

• Configure and customize S/4HANA Flexible Workflows.
• Utilize enhancement frameworks including:
  • BAdIs
  • User Exits
  • Customer Exits
  • S/4HANA In-App Extensibility
• Manage API lifecycle activities including design, development, security, publishing, monitoring, and consumption through API gateways such as Apigee.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, vendors, and development teams to define and implement scalable API and integration solutions.
• Participate in code reviews and promote development best practices and technical standards.
• Perform troubleshooting, debugging, performance tuning, and defect resolution.
• Create technical documentation and provide production support following deployment.
• Support Agile delivery processes and collaborate effectively with onsite and offshore teams.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• 6+ years of overall IT experience.
• 4+ years of software development experience.
• Advanced experience with SAP ABAP development.
• Strong knowledge of:
  • ABAP 7.4+
  • Object-Oriented Programming (OOPs)
  • OData Services
  • BRF+
  • SAP Upgrade Projects
• Experience developing enterprise APIs and integration solutions.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and debugging skills.
• Experience working within Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies including Agile and Scrum.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of SAP ABAP development experience in S/4HANA environments.
• Minimum of two full-cycle SAP S/4HANA implementation projects.
• Experience with:

  • DDIC
  • SAP Fiori/UI5
  • JavaScript
  • OData Development
• Functional knowledge of Finance, Purchasing, and Procurement modules including FI, SD, and Ariba.
• Experience in Finance, Purchasing, and Manufacturing business processes.
• Exposure to:
  • RAP (RESTful ABAP Programming Model)
  • SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP)
  • SAP Cloud Integration technologies
• Experience with API management platforms such as Apigee.
