Job summary

Innova Solutions is seeking a Software Engineer to join a 12-month contract with hybrid work in Irving, Charlotte, or Phoenix. You will design, configure, and maintain Hadoop clusters, manage resources with YARN/MapReduce, and partner with data engineering on ingestion pipelines.

The role requires Hadoop admin experience and patching/infrastructure support in a large enterprise. The position offers a competitive pay range and benefits, with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and maintain Hadoop clusters to ensure scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Implement resource management strategies (YARN, MapReduce) to optimize workloads.
• Monitor cluster health, troubleshoot issues, and fine-tune configurations for efficiency.
• Collaborate with data engineering teams to support ingestion pipelines and distributed processing.
• Plan and execute tenant migrations from legacy systems to newer versions or platforms.
• Schedule and apply regular updates to keep the Hadoop ecosystem secure and stable.
• Perform proactive maintenance activities such as log rotation, disk cleanup, and service restarts.
• Validate patch compatibility with existing workloads before deployment.
• Maintain rollback strategies in case of patch failures.
• Assess patches for relevance to the Hadoop environment.
• Evaluate patches for bug fixes, performance improvements, and security updates.
• Continuously monitor for CVEs affecting Hadoop, Red Hat, or MapR.
• Provide Tier-2/Tier-3 support for Hadoop-related incidents.

Position type: Full Time - Contract Duration: 12 Months with possible extension

Location: Irving TX, Charlotte NC, Phoenix AZ (Hybrid-03 days onsite and 02 day Remote)

As a Software Engineer, You will:

• Design, configure, and maintain Hadoop clusters to ensure scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Implement resource management strategies (YARN, MapReduce) to optimize workloads.

• Provide Tier-2/Tier-3 support for Hadoop-related incidents.

The ideal candidate will have:
