Job summary

FastTek Global in Dearborn, MI, is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Industrial System Analytics team. You will drive the design and implementation of cloud analytics solutions using GCP, and contribute to full-stack development with an emphasis on scalable architectures.

You will work with Python, React, Angular, and SQL databases,building applications, implementing Terraform for cloud resources, and shaping CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions and Tekton.

We are seeking a highly technical and experienced individual to fill the role of Software Engineer within our Industrial System Analytics (ISA) team. As a Software Engineer you will provide technical leadership and guidance to the development team, driving the design and implementation of cloud analytic solutions using GCP tools and techniques.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain robust and scalable full-stack applications. Contribute to both front-end user interfaces and back-end services, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following best practices and architectural patterns.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
• Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and share knowledge.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems.
• Design and implement database schemas and manage data interactions efficiently using SQL.
• Implement and manage infrastructure as code using Terraform for cloud resources on GCP.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines, utilizing tools like GitHub Actions, Tekton to automate software delivery processes. Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and apply them to improve our software products.

Experience Required

• Engineer 2 Exp.: Practitioner: Full Stack Developer (Python and React, Angular) 4+ years in IT; 3+ years in development

Experience Preferred

• Front-End Proficiency: Expertise in at least one modern front-end framework: Angular or React. Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, SCSS
• Back-End Proficiency: Strong proficiency in Python. Experience with Python web frameworks such as Flask and Fast API.
• Database Skills: Proficiency in SQL for querying, manipulating, and designing relational databases. Demonstrated ability to design and implement efficient database schemas.
• Cloud Platform: Solid understanding and practical experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services, including GCS (Google Cloud Storage), Cloud Run, and APIGEE.
• Development Tools & Practices: Proficient with GitHub for version control, including branching, merging, and pull requests.
• Experience with Terraform for infrastructure as code. Strong understanding and experience implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines, particularly with GitHub Actions.
• Networking & Web Concepts: Strong understanding of networking concepts crucial for web product development (e.g., HTTP/S, DNS, load balancing, APIs, security).
• General: Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Understanding and experience with Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) principles and implementation.
