Job Description
- We are seeking a highly motivated Full Stack Developer to join our Observability team. As a Software Engineer on our Platform Observability team, you will be at the heart of our engineering ecosystem, designing and building the next generation of self‑service observability infrastructure that provides deep, real‑time insights into our data platform.
- In this role, you will champion the adoption of modern telemetry standards, build robust data pipelines to handle metrics, logs, and traces daily, and create intuitive tooling that helps our engineering organization detect, diagnose, and resolve complex system issues before they impact users.
- A platform software engineer should be versatile, with expertise in Java or Python and a strong foundation in cloud platforms to build and manage applications at scale.
- Platform engineers often fall into two categories: backend engineers who design and implement microservices with robust APIs, and full‑stack engineers who deliver native UI/UX solutions and develop frameworks and services to enable an enterprise data platform. A solid understanding of the SDLC and hands‑on experience in Git and CI/CD enable engineers to independently design, code, test, and release features to production efficiently.

- Implement data governance, access controls, and security best practices with GCP‑native row‑ and column‑level security features.
- Continuously monitor and improve performance, scalability, and efficiency of data pipelines and storage solutions.
- Collaborate with data architects, engineers, and cross‑functional teams to define best practices, design patterns, and cloud data engineering frameworks.
- Automate data platform processes to enhance reliability, reduce manual intervention, and improve operational efficiency.
Experience Required
- Minimum 5 years as a Software Engineer with proficiency in Java and JavaScript technologies (Angular/React) and cloud‑based data pipelines and microservices using GCP tools such as BigQuery, Dataflow, and Dataproc.
- Strong understanding of SOA, microservices, and their application within a cloud data platform context; development of scalable services using Java Spring Boot, Python, Angular, and GCP technologies.
- Full‑stack development experience, enabling collaboration on data access and visualization layers.
- Design and develop RESTful APIs for seamless integration across platform services.
- Robust unit and functional testing to ensure high standards of test coverage and quality.
- Database management experience with relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases, including columnar databases like BigQuery; excellent SQL skills, including query optimization and data manipulation.
- Data governance and security: understanding of frameworks, RBAC, encryption, and data masking in cloud environments.
- CI/CD pipeline and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) experience with Terraform and automation frameworks; management of code changes with GitHub and efficient resolution of application defects.
- Independent handling of feature design, coding, testing, and production releases, adhering to SDLC best practices.
