Job summary

CTDI in West Chester, PA seeks an Electrical Engineer with 0-2 years of experience to help design, code, test, and support desktop, web, and client-server applications for CATV and modem test platforms. You will work with test design engineers on software for cutting-edge test systems and interface with customers to resolve issues.

Qualifications include familiarity with Linux, basic circuit knowledge, and experience with C#.

Qualifications

  • Electrical Engineer degree required.
  • 0–2 years of experience in related role or internships.
  • Experience with C# and test platforms preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design, code, test, and debug desktop, web and client-server apps for CATV test platforms.
  • Generate design specs, test procedures, and flowcharts.
  • Collaborate with engineering leads and SMEs on new designs.
  • Provide user support, troubleshoot issues, and drive tasks to completion.
  • Interface with customers to address questions and feedback.

This is a great opportunity for the right individual to be involved with Cable TV (CATV) and satellite set top box and modem testing technologies. This software developer will work with our test design engineers on writing code and developing applications for our cutting-edge test platforms. We are looking for a high-energy, quick learner who enjoys a hands-on, high-speed work environment.

Responsibilities
  • Design, code, test, optimize, debug of Desktop, Web and Client Server Applications for set top box and modem test platforms.
  • Generate documents including design specifications, test procedures, flowcharts.
  • Manage applications and tools consistent with established industry specifications.
  • Collaborate with and take direction from Engineering Lead and subject matter experts in the technical assessment of new designs and development work.
  • Provide technical support for user issues, troubleshoot problems and take corrective action on a timely, effective basis.
  • Take ownership of tasks and drive them to completion.
  • Interface directly with customer.
Required Skills
  • Familiarity with IP networks and Linux a plus.
  • Clear, discriminatory approach to solving engineering problems.
  • Knowledge of software engineering practices and methodologies.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to multi-task.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to understand others and clearly express thoughts.
  • Ability to work individually or in a team environment.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to fast-paced changing environment and priorities.
Preferred Skills & Experince
  • System level test experience is desired.
  • Ability to troubleshoot Hardware and resolve technical issues, and even to the component level.
  • Prepares Test reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing test results and failures.
  • Maintain and provide technical assistance for the various hardware and software test systems.
  • Provides engineering information’s in the field to development Team.

Ability to configure new routers based on the requirements.

Must be able to install and update software updates for the test systems.

Release final product into production and resolve issues.

Should be able to analyze basic circuits and schematics.

Experience with the standard lab debug tools (oscilloscope, signal generator, multimeter, power supply).

Experience with software development using C# is desired.

Electrical Engineer with (0-2yr) experience.
