Job summary

CTDI is seeking a hands-on engineering/tech professional in Texas to install and maintain CATV head-end equipment and STB repair processes. You will engage with engineering and operations teams to prepare test procedures and optimize testing and repair workflows.

The role emphasizes fast learning, high energy, and the ability to work in a team environment while handling equipment like conveyors, robots, motors, and PLC-based controls.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain CATV head-end equipment with corporate team.
• Prepare test procedures for STB repair and screen processes.
• Support tools and processes to optimize STB testing and repair.
• Maintain mechanical equipment and understand basic controls.
• Interface with customers on NPI work for new STB models.
• Analyze requirements for test systems and repair processes.
• Generate test procedures, schematics, flowcharts, and status reports.
• Support local branches and consult with other branches as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

This individual will be involved with cutting-edge Cable TV (CATV) head-end equipment and set top box technology. This individual should be a high-energy, quick learner who enjoys a hands-on, fast-paced work environment.

Shift: 6:00AM - 2:30PM, Monday-Friday

Responsibilities

• Work with our corporate team to install and maintain CATV head-end equipment.


• Work with our corporate engineering and Operations management team to prepare Test Procedures forSTB repair and clean and screen processes


• Work with CTDI STB repair branches to implement and support the tools and processes to optimize set top box testing and repair processes.


• Maintenance of mechanical equipment (conveyors, robots, motors, pneumatic devices, control devices, scanners, photo-eyes, etc.). Understand equipment operation and basic troubleshooting for equipment controls (PLC, WES, WCS).


• Interface directly with the customer concerning New Product Introduction (NPI) work on new STB models.


• Analyze technical requirements and effort associated with test systems, products,andSTB repair and clean and screen processes.


• Generate various documents, including test procedures, schematics, flowcharts, and project status reports.


• Support local branch on technical requirements and consult with other branches as required.


• Other duties as assigned.

• Understanding of analog, digital, and microprocessor circuits.


• Understanding of audio, video and CATV RF formats and circuits.


• Familiarity with Cable TV (CATV) and Data Over Cable Service Interface Specification (DOCSIS) technology.


• Familiarity with IP networks and Linux a plus.


• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
