Cerbo · OptiMantra is hiring for a Software Engineer role with a focus on full-stack development. This remote position targets candidates living in the US Eastern Time Zone and offers East Coast hours in a fully remote setup.

You will contribute to AI-powered features, CRM capabilities, and enhanced payments tooling within Cerbo EHR platforms, collaborating across product, design, and engineering teams to deliver value to practitioners and their patients.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with increasing scope and ownership.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience with Git and Docker.
• Experience with one or more cloud providers (AWS/Azure/Google Cloud).
• Able to communicate technical information clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Software Engineer Cerbo · OptiMantra Remote (US, Eastern Time Zone)

East Coast Hours · Full-time

The Opportunity

This fall we are hiring a team of full-stack software engineers to match Cerbo's exciting roadmap.

As a combined company, Cerbo and OptiMantra are advancing AI-powered solutions, CRM capabilities, and enhanced payments offerings for the independent practices we serve. AI Scribe, our clinical documentation tool built natively into the Cerbo EHR, is an important first step, giving practitioners less time at the keyboard and more time with their patients.

This team is being hired to bring that roadmap to life and to support it as it reaches the practitioners who depend on our platforms. You will build tools that give providers time back, help their practices grow, and improve the care delivered to the millions of patients our platforms serve every year.

The role is remote, and the selected candidates will live in the US Eastern Time Zone.

What You Will Own

• Front-end interfaces and user-facing features as a regular, ongoing part of the role, alongside back-end work
• Full-stack applications built and maintained using Java and Spring
• Clean, maintainable, and testable code
• Code reviews, given and received, with feedback incorporated
• Application deployment and ongoing maintenance
• Staying current with emerging technologies and best practices
• Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and other developers, so software solutions meet business requirements
• Participation in all phases of the software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment and maintenance
• Communication with stakeholders, including management, customers, and other teams, so software solutions meet their needs

What We Are Looking For

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with evidence of increasing scope and ownership over time. Backend or full-stack experience in professional settings: APIs, services, middleware, or data layer ownership
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work collaboratively in a remote team environment
• Eagerness to learn and grow under the mentorship of senior engineers
• Experience with tools such as Git and Docker
• Experience working with one or more cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, and familiarity with their services and APIs
• Ability to communicate technical information clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

AI Fluency

• Demonstrated experience using AI coding assistants in a professional or project setting
• Ability to write clear, specific prompts that produce useful outputs
• Strong critical evaluation skills, able to identify subtle bugs, inefficiencies, or security issues in generated code
• Understanding of AI limitations, including hallucinations, outdated patterns, and context window constraints
• $140,000-$180,000 based on experience
