Wilson Brown is seeking a Backend Software Engineer for a Series A FinTech in NYC. The role is hybrid with in-office 4 days per week and requires relocating to NYC or being NYC-based. You will own backend systems end-to-end, building in Go and Node, while managing Docker/Kubernetes deployments and cloud infrastructure.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years backend experience, production knowledge of Go/Node, and willingness to work in a fast-paced startup environment with equity compensation.

Backend Software Engineer - Series A FinTech (NYC)

Location: New York City (4 days onsite per week)

Salary: Up to $230K + Equity.

I'm working with a Series A fintech in NYC, backed by tier 1 investors, currently growing their engineering team. If you're a Software Engineer with 2+ years of backend experience and NYC roots (or ready to be NYC based), this could be your next move.

My client is hiring a Software Engineer to own backend systems end-to-end - from architecture through production. This is a hands-on Software Engineer role for someone who wants real ownership, not just a seat on a large team. The team is currently 10 but they are expanding!

• Go and Node - you'll work across both, with Go as the primary backend language
• Docker and Kubernetes - production experience with Docker and Kubernetes is a must-have for this Software Engineer role
• Terraform + AWS for infrastructure

As a Software Engineer here, you'll build and deploy services using Go, ship features in Node where it makes sense, and manage containerized infrastructure with Docker and Kubernetes daily. Their engineers are comfortable owning Docker configs and Kubernetes deployments without hand-holding. This isn't an environment where Kubernetes lives with a separate platform team.

Location:

NYC-based, hybrid, in-office 4 days per week. My client is looking specifically for Software Engineers who are NYC-based or willing to relocate to NYC. They cannot sponsor new visas however they can transfer existing visas.

Software Engineer background:

• 2+ years as a Software Engineer, backend-focused.
• Go and/or Node in production
• Docker and Kubernetes experience, hands-on
• Based in NYC or open to relocating to NYC
• Fintech or payments experience a plus, not required
• Experience in a VC backed startup or scale-up preferred
• Computer Science degree from a strong US University highly desirable.
