Product Pulse is seeking a Backend / Full Stack Engineer with 2+ years of backend experience to join a fast-moving team building financial infrastructure that handles billions in nonprofit payments. You will own systems end-to-end, from design to production, working directly with founders and leadership in a high-autonomy environment.
Strong opinions, clear communication, and cross-functional collaboration are essential.

- Owned and built scalable backend systems end-to-end.

Responsibilities
- Build and own backend server applications and components powering the payment platform end-to-end.
- Contribute to architecture decisions across APIs, backend systems and infrastructure.
- Collaborate with founders, product, and engineering through technical debates and design reviews.
- Improve real-time monitoring and alerting to understand user behavior and drive product iterations.
- Tackle a wide range of engineering projects across the platform, avoiding silos.

You'll own systems end to end – from architecture to shipping – working directly with founders and leadership with zero layers in between. This is a high-autonomy role where your judgment and opinions directly shape what gets built, not just how. We need engineers who have strong technical convictions, communicate clearly, and thrive in a fast-moving environment where whiteboarding, debating, and shipping are the norm.
- Building and owning backend server applications and components that power our payment platform end to end – from design through production
- Contributing to architecture decisions across APIs, backend systems, and infrastructure – helping define team standards and best practices
- Collaborating directly with founders, product, and engineering through whiteboarding sessions and technical debates – strong opinions loosely held
- Improving real-time monitoring and alerting capabilities to better understand user behavior and iterate on the product
- Taking on a wide range of engineering projects across the platform – the team intentionally avoids siloed product lines so you'll work across the full stack.
Required: 2 - 10 years of experience in backend engineering
Required: Experience at a reputable, growing company (Capital One-tier or faster), preferably a VC-backed startup
Required: Owned and built scalable backend systems end-to-end
Required: Bachelor's degree in a technical field
Required: Production experience with Docker and Kubernetes

Salary: $180K - $230K
