Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced software engineer to design, build, and scale distributed tools and services supporting threat disruption and platform safety. You will develop data pipelines to collect and analyze threat intelligence for Cloudflare customers, and help identify TTPs and IOCs.

You will collaborate with Threat Intelligence, Trust & Safety, Legal, and Product teams, translate complex requirements into scalable solutions, and participate in on-call rotations while mentoring

Qualifications

• Experience with AI-assisted development and agentic AI workflows.
• 5+ years building large-scale distributed software.
• Designing and integrating RESTful APIs and/or gRPC services.
• Strong SQL skills with PostgreSQL or similar DB.
• Production-grade Go and/or TypeScript code experience.
• Familiarity with Rust is a plus.
• Proven debugging, optimization and testing capabilities.
• Mentor teammates and promote best practices.
• Nice-to-have: Trust & Safety, Legal domain experience.
• Knowledge of DNS/TLS/HTTP and web security standards.
• Experience with Kafka, React, Kubernetes, Redis is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, run, and scale distributed tools and services that support both cyber threat disruption and platform abuse efforts.
• Develop critical data pipelines and services to collect, analyze, and expose threat intelligence data for Cloudforce One analysts and Cloudflare customers, helping to identify Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) and Indicators of Compromise (IOCs).
• Collaborate closely with Threat Intelligence, Trust & Safety, Legal, and Product teams to understand goals and translate complex technical requirements into elegant, scalable solutions.
• Improve system design and architecture to ensure stability, performance, and maintainability of both internal and customer-facing compliance and security services.
• Analyze, communicate, and help prioritize complex technical concepts across teams.
• Ongoing monitoring and maintenance of production services, including participation in on-call rotations.
• Mentor and guide other developers in the team, helping to build collective technical expertise and promote best practices for writing well‑tested, modular, and reusable code.

Requirements

• Experience with AI-assisted development and agentic AI workflows
• At least 5 years of experience building large-scale software applications, preferably distributed systems
• Experience designing and integrating RESTful APIs and/or gRPC services
• Knowledge of SQL and common relational database systems such as PostgreSQL
• Prior experience writing production ready code in Go and/or Typescript
• Familiarity with Rust
• Excellent debugging and optimization skills
• Expertise in writing well tested code
• Interest in opportunities to be a technical mentor for teammates
• Prior experience working in the Trust & Safety and Legal domain space (nice-to-have)
• Deep understanding of DNS, TLS/SSL and HTTP (nice-to-have)
• Expertise in web security issues and industry standards for access control (nice-to-have)
• Experience with Kafka (nice-to-have)
• Experience building web applications using React (nice-to-have)
