About the Team

Cloudflare’s Threat Application Services (TAS) team builds automated services and systems that transform Cloudflare’s massive network telemetry into actionable intelligence. They empower customers with products to combat advanced threats, enabling them to query, investigate, and automatically mitigate attacks.

About the Role

This Senior Engineering Manager leads a team of high‑performing engineers building and scaling the Cloudforce One Threat Events platform, external Threat Intel APIs, and backend systems that integrate Indicators of Compromise (IOCs) directly into products such as WAF and Gateway for automated mitigation.

Responsibilities include architectural direction, operational excellence, and ensuring that intelligence platforms meet latency and reliability requirements of enterprise security operations.

Leader must also drive professional development of direct reports, collaborate with product managers and security researchers to turn complex threat data into intuitive, automated customer experiences, and support hiring to expand engineering capabilities.

Role may require on‑call outside standard hours.

Desirable Skills & Experience

• Experience with AI‑assisted development and agentic AI workflows.
• Prior experience building high‑performance APIs or platforms for threat intelligence, security operations, or large‑scale data analytics.
• 8+ years of software development experience, focusing on Go, JavaScript, or distributed systems.
• Led high‑performing engineering teams for over 8 years, responsible for architectural direction and operational excellence of large‑scale distributed security platforms.
• Proven experience managing technical debt in a high‑growth environment.
• Understanding of the Cyber Kill Chain and automation of ingestion and distribution of IOCs (IPs, domains, hashes, JA3/4 fingerprints).
• Experience with edge computing, SQL‑at‑the‑edge, and building systems that scale to trillions of signals.
• Strong mentorship and coaching skills in a specialized security engineering domain.
