Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Software Development Manager I in Raleigh, NC to own the availability and performance of distributed microservices deployed in AWS. You will lead and mentor a team, drive sprint planning, and ensure scalable, observable systems with robust CI/CD pipelines.

You will design and review APIs, collaborate with product owners, and help engineers grow through feedback and structured 1:1s. Strong leadership and hands-on coding may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of software development experience with leadership responsibilities.
• Strong experience with AWS, distributed systems, and microservice architectures.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on technical leadership and mentorship to the team.
• Design, document and review new features and APIs with stakeholders.
• Lead and participate in code reviews to uphold coding standards.
• Drive sprint planning, backlog refinement and delivery with accountability for milestones.
