Job summary

Neumo seeks a Software Development Manager to lead a team of 5–6 developers and 2 QA Technicians in building and maintaining software for DMV services kiosks; you will also be one of the developers. Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software development experience.
• 2+ years in a team lead, tech lead, or management role.
• Experience leading or contributing to cloud migration initiatives.
• Experience working in complex, multi-system or legacy-integrated environments.
• Strong hands-on experience with VB.NET and C# in production environments.
• Strong experience with SQL Server, including query optimization and performance tuning.
• Experience with SPA, .NET MVC, Web Forms, Windows Services, and WinForms application development.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud architecture and development.
• Experience working on systems where performance and reliability are critical to business operations.
• Experience leveraging modern AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, Microsoft Copilot).
• Experience with UWP.
• Experience modernizing legacy systems or working in hybrid environments.
• Experience with automated testing frameworks (Selenium, Playwright).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience working in regulated or compliance-driven environments (e.g., PCI).
• Experience with devices like printers and credit card readers.
• Experience working cross-functionally with product, operations, and executive stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 5–6 software engineers and 2 QA Technicians.
• Act as a servant leader — remove blockers and support team growth.
• Conduct regular one-on-ones and provide career development support.
• Facilitate code reviews and uphold engineering standards.
• Collaborate with the Director to align priorities with business goals.
• Plan and deliver high-quality releases with product and operations.
• Write, review, and maintain production code using VB.NET and C#.
• Contribute to SQL Server query design and data access optimization.
• Build and support WinForms desktop apps and SST client.
• Develop web apps using C# / ASP.NET (Web Forms, Web API, MVC, REST).
• Lead Azure Cloud migration planning and front-end modernization (Vue.js).
• Troubleshoot production issues across DB, backend, and UI.
• Make architectural decisions balancing pragmatism and maintainability.
