Job summary

Amazon seeks a Software Development Manager to lead a team on the DSQL Dataplane, mentoring engineers in distributed systems and database services. You will own the full development life cycle and collaborate with product teams to ensure delivery to customers.

The role emphasizes leadership, technical depth, and the ability to drive impactful roadmaps in a cloud-native PostgreSQL-compatible environment.

Qualifications

3+ years of engineering team management experience.
7+ years of engineering experience.
8+ years of leading definition and development of multi-tier web services.
3+ years as Software Engineer or related role.
1+ years of technical leadership across the full software lifecycle.
1+ years of distributed software systems using Java, C#, or C++.
1+ years of SOA and distributed programming experience.
Bachelor's or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.
Knowledge of end-to-end software/hardware/networks lifecycle and processes.
Experience partnering with product or program management teams.

Responsibilities

Lead a high-performing team of software engineers on critical parts of the hot query path.
Mentor and coach engineers in distributed systems and databases.
Own full development life cycle and operation of services.
Collaborate with product and other teams to shape roadmap and delivery.
