Job summary

Amazon Web Services, Inc. in Seattle, WA is seeking a Software Development Engineer to join the Production Engineering team responsible for keeping critical developer tools running for hundreds of thousands of developers each month.

You will own the end-to-end operational health of production services, building real-time observability and automation to detect issues and fix them without human intervention, handling tens of millions of requests weekly.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience.
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience.
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

Responsibilities

• Own the operational health of production services end-to-end, building real-time observability systems that detect problems before customers notice.
• Build agentic solutions that resolve issues without human intervention and handle tens of millions of requests per week.
• Respond to security incidents affecting real users and reduce service debt to sustain operation at scale.
