Job summary

Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. seeks a Systems Development Engineer obsessed with automation to build scalable software for AWS S3. You will lead a small team, partner with engineers and operators, and own end-to-end delivery in a DevOps environment.

The role emphasizes full software lifecycle, customer interaction, and operating at massive scale across AWS regions, with stringent security requirements and on-call duties.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or CSSLP certification.
• 4+ years programming with modern languages (C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby).
• 4+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years designing or architecting new or existing systems.
• 4+ years deploying and operating in a Linux/Unix environment.
• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance.

Responsibilities

• Technical lead for a small engineering team through the full software lifecycle.
• Identify, plan, deliver, and operate software and processes that drive customer-obsessed improvements for AWS operations.
• Work with AWS engineers to identify process automation opportunities.
• Perform full-lifecycle software development with constant customer interaction to scope, design, implement, test, deliver, and operate software solutions.
• Adopt a DevOps, Agile Scrum, incremental delivery mindset with peer-reviewed code.
• Participate in on-call rotation supporting automated solutions and expand to service-wide on-call in unique regions.
