CarGurus is seeking a Software Development Engineer Intern (Front-End) to work on real-world web applications. You will build UIs with React, collaborate with design, backend, and product teams, and participate in testing and performance optimization to enhance user experiences.

Qualifications

• Exposure to writing basic automated tests and diagnosing failures in local and CI environments.

• Eager to tackle complex problems, break them into manageable steps, and ask clarifying questions to keep progress moving forward.

Nice to have

• Exposure to modern full‑stack web development concepts through personal projects or coursework using frameworks like Remix, React Router, Node.js, GraphQL, or server‑side rendering.
• Familiarity with basic web publishing concepts like SEO‑sensitive pages, canonicalization, structured data, redirects, or content‑managed experiences such as Builder.io or Contentful.
• Familiarity with experimentation systems, feature flags, analytics instrumentation, or Core Web Vitals.

The displayed range represents the expected hourly rate for this position.

The displayed range represents the expected annual base salary / On‑Target Earnings (OTE) for this position. On‑Target Earnings (OTE) is inclusive of base salary and on‑target commission earnings, which applies exclusively to sales roles.

Individual pay within this range is determined by work location and other factors such as job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

This annual base salary forms part of a comprehensive Total Rewards Package. In addition to benefits, this role may qualify for discretionary bonuses/incentives and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).

Position Pay Range

$35 - $35 USD
