Job summary

Amazon in Seattle, WA seeks a Software Development Engineer for Building Connectivity Service Automation to design, implement, and operate automated networking solutions at global scale.

You will work with cross-functional teams to build high‑quality distributed software, maintain service performance, and contribute to a secure, cost-efficient network platform that supports thousands of internal customers daily.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non‑internship design or architecture experience for large systems.
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related experience.
• 1+ years designing and developing large-scale, multi‑tiered, multi‑threaded, distributed software applications.
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience.
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain innovative solutions to transform service performance, durability, cost, and security.
• Write high quality distributed system software.
• Work in an agile, startup‑like development environment with focus on important tasks.
• Collaborate with Network/Systems/Software Engineering teams for fast roll-out and deployment.
• Use data to measure success and ensure faults do not impact customers.
• Scope solutions and drive cross-team collaboration to get the job done.
• Contribute to documentation of processes and procedures.
• Participate in an on-call rotation with your team.
