Software Development Engineer, Alexa Customer Journeys

Are you passionate about inventing experiences that help customers discover ways to incorporate Generative AI in their daily lives? Do you want to work in a fast-paced environment surrounded by the smartest and most customer-obsessed product, engineering, marketing, and data science leaders on the planet, where the future is still to be defined? The Alexa Customer Journeys team is looking for a Software Development Engineer to make Alexa an expert on itself, providing useful information and experiences to customers seeking to take advantage of all their devices’ features and capabilities.

You will build solutions and systems working with Large Language Model (LLM) and other generative technologies. You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of Software Development Engineers, Data Scientists, and Quality Assurance Engineers, and work with Product Managers to design customer-facing experiences with Alexa, building solutions to make Alexa an expert in itself.

Key job responsibilities

1. Design, develop, test, and deploy distributed machine learning systems and large-scale solutions for our worldwide customer base.
2. Collaborate closely with Data/Applied scientists to influence strategy and define the team’s roadmap.
3. Drive system architecture, implement best practices, and coach junior engineers.

About the team

The Alexa Customer Journeys team builds products and technology that simplify customers' lives. Our products are used by millions of customers across Amazon devices worldwide. We invent on behalf of our customers and have fun along the way!

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• 3+ years of professional software development experience (non-internship)
• 2+ years of experience in system design or architecture (design patterns, reliability, scaling)
• 3+ years supporting Video Games Industry development, release, or Live Ops
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
