About the Team

About the Team
The Productivity Technology team primarily builds platform systems and components to support our application and customers. We own and advocate for effective platforms, frameworks, and products. We use a wide range of technologies to achieve our objectives, and need to influence their direction, help our teams with effective adoption, and ultimately create great experiences for our users while also maintaining the pace of innovation with our development teams. Many of our platforms and frameworks are used extensively across Workday, and we continue to look for ways to break down technical barriers and strengthen our existing systems.

We are putting together an expert team who will take a data-driven approach to understanding and improving the performance and reliability of our existing services to establish standards and ensure these best-practices are built-in to new services.

About the Role
  • Collaborate with peers within the team and partner with others across the business to develop solutions for lifecycle management using the latest technologies

  • Be passionate about modern technologies and advocate for innovative approaches to existing systems or work practices

  • Be a mentor that enables team mates to grow and succeed

  • Partner with product management, engineers and customer teams to capture requirements, plan feature delivery and deliver on designs and implementation

  • Lead and facilitate team design and solution discussions

  • Work as part of an agile software team to ensure engineering principles and quality are a core component of feature delivery

  • Contribute ideas for continually improving the designs and scalability of the products and services delivered

  • Work in a high trust and innovative environment where teamwork is essential

About You

Basic Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in software development, designing for and programming in one or more of the following: Python, Golang, Ruby, C#, Java

  • Experience working with agile methodologies and principles

Other Qualifications
  • Full stack development experience preferred in a large, distributed systems environment

  • Experience with containerization using Docker and Kubernetes is a plus

  • Experience leading features & design through implementation & support phases

  • Experience as a Scrum Master

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent


Workday Pay Transparency Statement

The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below. Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants. Recruiters can share more detail during the hiring process. Each candidate’s compensation offer will be based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, geography, experience, skills, job duties, and business need, among other things.
