Job summary

Virtusa Corporation is seeking a skilled software engineer to design, develop, and troubleshoot secure, high-quality code across the SDLC. You will work with Java, Spring, and REST services, while leveraging Kubernetes and PCF, Git, and CI/CD tooling to deliver resilient microservices.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
• Hands-on experience on core Java, Spring and REST services.
• Hands on experience on Kubernetes with PCF.
• Strong Java, J2EE and Micro services development experience.
• Strong experience in Oracle RDBMS.
• Strong code development, reviews, and refactoring skills.
• Hands-on knowledge on cloud technology, containers and streaming tech (Kafka or similar).
• Experience with GIT and CI/CD (Jenkins).
• Understanding of resilient, high-quality deliverables and multitasking ability.

Responsibilities

• Executes standard software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting
• Writes secure and high-quality code using the syntax of at least one programming language with limited guidance
• Designs, develops, codes, and troubleshoots with consideration of upstream and downstream systems and technical implications
• Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain to improve the value realized by automation
• Applies technical troubleshooting to break down solutions and solve technical problems of basic complexity
• Gathers, analyzes, and draws conclusions from large, diverse data sets to identify problems and contribute to decision-making in service of secure, stable application development
• Learns and applies system processes, methodologies, and skills for the development of secure, stable code and systems

• Strong technical development experience on effectively writing code, code reviews, best practices code refactoring
• Hands-on knowledge on cloud Technology. Containers and Kafka or any streaming technology
• Experience with various source control tools like GIT
• Good understanding of Jenkins CI/CD, Maven/Gradle
• Excellent knowledge in developing resilient and high quality deliverables.
