Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a technically curious professional to join our team in Kentucky. You will grow in programming and code standards, while applying best practices across development tasks and documentation.

The role emphasizes learning, team collaboration, and contributing to product delivery within our insurance-focused technology stack. You will participate in Scrum ceremonies, develop knowledge of assigned applications, and help troubleshoot production incidents.

Qualifications

• BS/BA or greater in Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
• General understanding of technical skills, programming languages, and tools used by the company
• Logical thinking in making decisions, completing work tasks, and solving problems
• Ability to achieve continuous improvement in technical and business acumen
• Good written communication skills
• Must reside and work within an eligible U.S. state; Ohio and West Virginia are included
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with reasonable accommodation where needed

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate continued technical skill growth
• Learn and apply code standards within a primary technical domain
• Grow proficiency with developer environment tools, ancillary software tools, and technology
• Develop knowledge of assigned applications
• Participate in team meetings and project scrum meetings
• Learn and demonstrate development and administrative processes and procedures
• Write, test, and document code to implement approved change requests
• Test and debug new or modified code to verify accuracy and completeness
• Communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences
• Assist peers with root cause analysis of production incidents
• Develop understanding of how the role impacts the team, division, and company
• Continue developing understanding of success for the team and customers
• Grow general insurance knowledge
• Engage in behaviors that produce great experiences and outcomes
• Report to the Director, Technology & Product Delivery
