Jobtailor is seeking an entry‑level software developer in Connecticut to design, develop and test high‑quality software under guidance from senior engineers.

You will participate in Agile ceremonies, collaborate with product owners and architects, and contribute to performance improvements, code reviews, and documentation. The role emphasizes learning modern practices, including CI/CD, DevOps, automated testing, and secure coding.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, software engineering or related field.
• 0-3 years of software development experience (internships and co-op considered).
• Understanding of object‑oriented programming concepts and fundamentals.
• Experience or coursework in Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or C#.
• Basic knowledge of REST APIs, SQL and relational databases, Git, and Agile methodologies.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Willingness to learn new technologies and business domains.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain software solutions under guidance from senior engineers.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand‑ups, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Contribute to enhancements, defect resolution, and performance improvements.
• Develop and execute unit tests; assist with integration and system testing.
• Troubleshoot production and non‑production issues; support root cause analysis.
• Collaborate with business partners, product owners, and engineers to translate requirements into solutions.
• Participate in code reviews and incorporate feedback to improve quality.
• Learn and apply modern engineering practices including CI/CD, DevOps, automated testing, and secure coding.
• Use AI‑powered development tools to improve productivity, code quality, and documentation.
• Create and maintain technical documentation as required.
• Support cloud modernization and digital transformation initiatives across the MLB IT portfolio.
