Job summary

Modern Woodmen of America is seeking a Software Developer to design and develop new applications and system enhancements that support critical business operations. You will collaborate with stakeholders, analyze requirements, and participate in all phases of the SDLC, including design, development, testing, and documentation.

The role requires strong analytical skills and experience in object-oriented programming, relational databases, and modern tech stacks.

Qualifications

• Minimum Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Development, or a related field required, Bachelor’s preferred.
• Software development, programming, or technical experience required.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to understand business processes and translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Knowledge of software development principles, testing methodologies, and application support practices.
• Ability to participate in all phases of the software development life cycle, including design, development, testing, code reviews and technical documentation.
• Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across teams and partner with user departments to deliver business solutions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop new applications and system enhancements that support critical business operations.
• Analyze requirements and define technical solutions with stakeholders.
• Participate in all phases of the SDLC: design, development, testing, code reviews, documentation.
• Develop code following established standards and guidelines.
• Create technical documentation of software design for QA and production support.
• Perform unit testing to ensure requirements are met and errors are handled.
• Review existing systems to improve efficiency and plan enhancements.
• Coordinate between departments for smooth implementation and train users on new systems.
• Update supervisors and project managers on progress and issues.
• Stay updated on system processes and programming methodologies.
