Praise Tech Solutions is seeking a BI/SQL Engineer to design and implement data pipelines, dashboards, and reports. The role focuses on ETL with SSIS, data modeling, and performance optimization using T-SQL in a remote USA setting.

The candidate will build Power BI dashboards, tune queries, and implement robust data integration from SQL Server sources, flat files, and external feeds, delivering reliable analytics to clients.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Create and modify tables, stored procedures, views, indexes, synonyms, user-defined functions, and triggers.
• Develop Power BI visualizations and dashboards; deploy reports to dashboards.
• Design and develop SSIS packages to extract, load, and transform data from multiple sources.
• Improve query performance via execution plans, indexing, and efficient joins.
• Build SSIS transformations including for-each loop containers, merge, pivot/unpivot.
• Create connection managers, deploy and debug SSIS packages; update data via temp tables and joins.
• Implement logging and error handling; design data marts and star/snowflake schemas.
• Identify dimensions and fact tables; develop parameterized stored procedures and SSRS reports.
• Deliver Power BI data modeling and data cleansing from diverse sources.

Job description

Job Duties:

• Create and modify tables, stored procedures, views, indexes, synonyms, user-defined functions, triggers, etc. Create the visualizations and dashboard using power builder tool in PowerBI


• Improve the performance of queries with modifications in T-SQL queries, by generating execution plans of the long running queries with performance issues, by using indexes, using the select syntax efficiently, creating joins.


• Design and develop SSIS packages to extract data from different data sources like SQL Server, Flat Files, Excel Source files, XML files etc, and then load the data to various destinations like Excel, Flat File, OLE DB, Raw File, Data Reader, etc.


• Use SSIS transformations such as, for-each loop container, sequence container, expressions, and execute SQL task. Work with SSIS packages involved FTP tasks, merge, and merge joining, sort, pivot, and unpivot control flow transformation


• Work on different kinds of transformations in SSIS like slowly changing dimension, lookup, merge, derived column, multicast, conditional split, aggregate, fuzzy lookup, pivot, and unpivot as per the client requirement


• Create various connection managers, deploying, and debugging the SSIS packages. Update data in tables based on the user requirement using temp tables and joins


• Provide logging, error handling by using event handler, and custom logging for SSIS packages. Analyze the requirements and systematically designed the data mart for the online services.


• Identify the dimensions, fact tables, and design the data mart using start schema. Create complex stored procedures with parameters and generate parameterized SSRS reports from them, where the user has a choice to select the parameters


• Create Power BI visualizations and deploy Power BI reports to the dashboards. Perform Power BI Desktop Data modeling, which cleans, transforms, and mash up data from multiple sources
