Job summary

Praise Tech Solutions is seeking an experienced SQL BI Developer to optimize T-SQL queries, design ETL processes with SSIS, and build Power BI dashboards. You will work on performance tuning, data integration, and reporting solutions across diverse data sources.

Location is Anywhere in USA with potential remote collaboration; the role involves deploying scalable data marts, reports, and dashboards while supporting clients with robust data solutions.

Qualifications

• Strong T-SQL skills with experience optimizing long running queries.
• Proficiency in designing and developing SSIS packages for data extraction and loading.
• Experience creating Power BI visualizations and dashboards.
• Knowledge of SQL Server environments and data warehousing concepts.
• Familiarity with ETL processes and data integration across sources.

Responsibilities

• Improve performance of queries by generating execution plans and tuning indexes.
• Design and develop SSIS packages to extract data from diverse sources and load to destinations.
• Work with SSIS tasks such as For Each, Merge, Pivot, and Unpivot in workflow.
• Implement transformations including slowly changing dimensions and lookups as required.
• Create connection managers, deploy/debug SSIS packages, and update data via temp tables and joins.
• Provide logging and error handling; design data marts and parameterized reports.
• Identify dimensions and fact tables; design data marts using star schema.
• Create Power BI visualizations and deploy reports to dashboards; model and mash data from multiple sources.

Job description

Job Duties:

• Improve the performance of queries with modifications in T-SQL queries, by generating execution plans of the long running queries with performance issues, by using indexes, using the select syntax efficiently, creating joins.
• Design and develop SSIS packages to extract data from different data sources like SQL Server, Flat Files, Excel Source files, XML files etc, and then load the data to various destinations like Excel, Flat File, OLE DB, Raw File, Data Reader, etc.
• Use SSIS transformations such as, for-each loop container, sequence container, expressions, and execute SQL task. Work with SSIS packages involved FTP tasks, merge, and merge joining, sort, pivot, and unpivot control flow transformation
• Work on different kinds of transformations in SSIS like slowly changing dimension, lookup, merge, derived column, multicast, conditional split, aggregate, fuzzy lookup, pivot, and unpivot as per the client requirement
• Create various connection managers, deploying, and debugging the SSIS packages. Update data in tables based on the user requirement using temp tables and joins
• Provide logging, error handling by using event handler, and custom logging for SSIS packages. Analyze the requirements and systematically designed the data mart for the online services.
• Identify the dimensions, fact tables, and design the data mart using start schema. Create complex stored procedures with parameters and generate parameterized SSRS reports from them, where the user has a choice to select the parameters
• Create Power BI visualizations and deploy Power BI reports to the dashboards. Perform Power BI Desktop Data modeling, which cleans, transforms, and mash up data from multiple sources
