Job summary

Mercury Marine, a Brunswick Corporation brand, is seeking a Software Controls Engineering Intern in Fond du Lac, WI. You will join engineers responsible for design, production and testing of outboard and sterndrive motors, gaining hands-on experience on real projects in a collaborative environment.

Ideal candidates are BS students in Electrical/Software/Computer/Controls Engineering with 48 credits and sophomore status, available full-time May–August 2027, and able to work with embedded hardware

Qualifications

• Current enrollment in a BS program with a major in Electrical, Software, Computer, or Controls Engineering.
• Minimum second semester sophomore status with 48 completed credits.
• Available to work full-time (40 hours per week) during May–August 2027.
• Able to work hands-on with hardware such as embedded controllers and oscilloscopes.
• Preferred: knowledge of CAN networks and CAN communication.
• Preferred: knowledge of PID control algorithms.
• Preferred: experience with MATLAB and Simulink.

Responsibilities

• Use Simulink and MATLAB for control algorithm development.
• Use Simulink and MATLAB for data/testing analysis.
• Testing embedded software on target controller and simulation board.
• Testing embedded software on engines/boats.
