Job summary

Brunswick Corporation’s Mercury Marine in Oshkosh, WI is seeking a Drives & Propulsion Systems Engineering Intern. You will collaborate with engineers to test and analyze propulsion systems for outboard and sterndrive motors, managing projects from inception to completion.

The internship offers exposure to multiple areas and hands-on learning in a supportive team environment. You will gain experience with CFD/FEA data, hydrodynamic design, and report writing while contributing to real-world

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in mechanical, aerospace, or Naval Architecture.
• Minimum second semester sophomore with 48 credits completed.
• Able to work full time during the summer May–August 2027.
• Interest or experience with aerodynamic/hydrodynamic design and optimization.
• Experience with Python or Matlab for data analysis.
• Experience designing and executing tests.
• Strong report writing and documentation skills.
• US work authorization required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in designing on-water boat tests and analyze data.
• Request CFD/FEA simulations for validation before prototype.
• Use load cells to measure propulsor loads.
• Feed results into 1-D performance prediction models.
• Drive hydrodynamic shape changes of gearcase and propeller components.
