Job summary

Mercury Marine, headquartered in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, invites motivated students to join our Software Controls Engineering Intern program. You will work with engineers on design, production and testing of control software for outboard and sterndrive motors, gaining hands-on experience on real projects.

You will learn to use MATLAB and Simulink for control development, test embedded software on target hardware, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a BS program in Electrical, Software, Computer, or Controls Engineering.
• Minimum sophomore with 48 earned credits.
• Available to work full-time (40 hours/week) during May–August 2027.
• Able to work hands-on with embedded hardware and test tools.

Responsibilities

• Use MATLAB/Simulink for control algorithm development and analysis.
• Test embedded software on target controllers and on engines/boats.
• Update documentation related to control software.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers as needed.
