Job summary

Lockheed Martin in Owego, NY seeks a mid‑career engineer to own end‑to‑end configuration and data-management for hardware and software products within the Platform Engineering Configuration Management organization.

You will manage baseline control, status accounting, and change reviews, partnering with leaders and engineers to translate requirements into technical specs and test plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Proven experience with change‑control processes and impact analysis across complex systems.
• Hands‑on expertise in configuration management (engineering release processes, product identification, baseline control, status accounting, verification/audit).
• Demonstrated ability to establish and execute efficient, compliant processes for multiple program lifecycle phases.
• PTC Windchill (or equivalent Enterprise Product Data Management system).
• Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) – advanced data‑analysis and reporting capabilities.
• Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams – for issue tracking, collaboration, and document management.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively on cross‑functional teams.
• U.S. citizenship with an active Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Configuration and Data Management: Manage product deliveries, baseline control, status accounting, and engineering change review processes.
• Process Problem Reports (PRs) and Engineering Change Notices (ECNs); lead PR/ECN board reviews for parts, cable & mechanical drawings, BOMs, and related work products.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with program leaders, engineering teams, and external stakeholders to integrate hardware and software deliverables.
• Translate customer requirements into clear technical specifications and verification/test plans.
• Verification & Validation: Support verification activities, and ensure compliance with technical requirements.
• Process Improvement: Identify and implement efficiency gains using Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or other continuous-improvement methodologies.
• Documentation & Reporting: Produce and maintain configuration documentation, data reports, and audit trails using Microsoft Office Suite and specialized CM tools.
• Stakeholder Communication: Facilitate clear, concise communication across multidisciplinary teams and present status updates to senior leadership.

The Work

The Owego Configuration and Data Management (CDM) team is seeking a motivated mid-career engineer to join the Platform Engineering Configuration Management organization. Lockheed Martin Standard Job Description: Develops and maintains software configuration management tools to support configuration identification, control, reporting, and delivery of both internally developed and externally purchased commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) software products. Performs configuration management and release engineering tasks to ensure new software product operating parameters are documented, comply with standard hardware configurations, and are logistically sustainable. Designs, develops, automates, and maintains productivity tools using programming, database or scripting languages to improve software modeling and development. Designs and implements build procedures that are used to support software product development and use.

• Knowledge of Model‑Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), or CAMEO for system‑architecture modeling.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $85300.00 - $158300.00
