Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a junior software engineer to participate in the full software development lifecycle, contributing to design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of applications. You will work with cross-functional teams to deliver robust solutions that meet business needs.

The role emphasizes learning and applying new technologies, scripting for interactive webpages, and collaborating within a DevOps environment to support production systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, MIS, or Software Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 0-2 years’ experience preferred.
• Ability to learn and adopt innovative technologies.
• Knowledge of scripting languages for event-driven webpages.
• Knowledge of tools and programming languages for writing and modifying programs that comprise an application system.
• Knowledge of tools and facilities for developing and populating application databases.
• Knowledge of source code repositories.
• Strong writing and communication skills.
• Knowledge of Unit testing frameworks.
• Knowledge of SDLC and software support and maintenance approaches like Scrum and Waterfall.

Responsibilities

• Participates in the review, analysis, modification, customization, development, enhancement and maintenance of applications and systems
• Participates in the design, configuring, testing, debugging, and implementation phases of the application systems development process and provides technical support for application systems bug fixes, defects, issue resolution and regular maintenance
• Works collaboratively with Architects, Business Analysts, technical leads, QA teams, and subject matter experts of the various upstream and downstream systems in the design and development of solutions to meet business needs
• Supports QA and UAT execution and deployments in various environments
• Prepares deployment plan, troubleshoots and resolves production problems
