Job summary

Applied Medical in California is seeking a Software Asset Management (SAM) Analyst to independently manage software licensing, compliance, usage analysis and renewal support across publishers.

You will evaluate licensing agreements, optimize license utilization, collaborate with Purchasing, Information Security and IT teams, maintain SAM dashboards, and ensure audit readiness while guiding junior analysts.

Qualifications

  • At least three years IT experience with two years in ITAM/SAM.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft licensing models and enterprise agreements.
  • Proficiency with Excel (Pivot tables, VLOOKUP, IF) and other Office tools.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate requirements and usage data to develop licensing proposals.
  • Analyze licensing agreements for compliance and optimization opportunities.
  • Identify underused licenses and recommend harvesting or reallocation.
  • Coordinate with Purchasing, InfoSec, and IT teams on license purchases and deployments.
  • Perform ongoing license reconciliation and resolve moderately complex issues.
  • Maintain SAM repository, dashboards, and key licensing metrics.
  • Prepare compliance reports, true-ups, and renewal analyses.
  • Serve as point of contact with vendor account representatives.
