Job summary

Optomi, in partnership with a leading Insurance Provider, seeks a Software Architect to guide technology strategy and align projects with business goals, enterprise architecture, and modern development practices.

The role emphasizes scalable design, mentorship, and collaboration with Enterprise Architecture and delivery teams to balance speed with reliability, while enabling cloud migration and native cloud services adoption.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of software development experience with Microsoft stack (.NET/Azure).
  • 3+ years of application architecture experience.
  • Insurance industry experience strongly preferred, specifically Property & Casualty.

Responsibilities

  • Designs application solutions focusing on reuse, scalability, performance, availability, and security.
  • Understands the enterprise applications architecture design and development best practices.
  • Mentors staff in application architectures and standards.
  • Acts as a strategic thinker, thought leader, internal consultant, advocate, mentor, and change agent for application architecture within development teams.
  • Works with Enterprise Architecture on design methodologies, reviews, best practices, and conventions; receives mentoring from EA on future-state planning.
  • Collaborates with delivery managers to balance rapid delivery with sound technical solutions.
  • Provides architectural guidance on cloud migration and adoption of native cloud services where practical.
  • Evaluates and recommends cloud services that best fit the organization’s needs.
  • Advises delivery team leadership on technical solutions and team competencies.

They will provide technical oversight to ensure that individual software projects adhere to the organization's business strategy, enterprise architecture, and application development methodologies.

  • Provides architectural guidance on cloud migration of existing applications and adoption of native cloud services where practical, to enhance system scalability, resilience, and performance.
  • Evaluates and recommends cloud services that best suit the organization's needs.
  • Advises delivery team leadership on technical solutions and on development team member competencies, skills, and overall productivity.
