Job description

Optomi, in partnership with a forward-thinking grocery chain, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to play a critical leadership role in building high-performing, scalable, and maintainable enterprise software solutions while mentoring engineers and shaping best practices across teams!

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Serve as a technical leader and mentor, producing extensible, maintainable code used across multiple products.
  • Act as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI), owning system reliability and participating in on‑call support to monitor performance and resolve incidents.
  • Function as a subject matter expert for assigned components, providing guidance and architectural direction to engineering teams.
  • Lead and participate in code reviews to ensure quality, security, and long‑term maintainability.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues, implementing durable, scalable solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define requirements, drive delivery plans, and execute releases.
  • Document system designs, architectures, and processes in alignment with enterprise standards.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and outcomes clearly to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Continuously evaluate and adopt new technologies, patterns, and best practices to improve system performance, reliability, and observability.
  • Contribute to improving engineering standards, processes, and team culture.
What We’re Looking For
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.
  • 6+ years of software engineering experience, with deep expertise in:
  • C#, SQL, .NET Core (3.0+)
  • ASP.NET MVC, Entity Framework, LINQ
  • REST APIs, Microservices, Full‑Stack Development
  • Messaging and integration tools such as RabbitMQ or Azure Service Bus
  • T‑SQL and relational database design
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum environments, including leading standups, sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives, and peer code reviews.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to context‑switch across multiple initiatives.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to explain technical concepts clearly to varied audiences.
  • Self‑motivated, organized, and comfortable in a fast‑paced, results‑driven environment.
