Job summary

Optomi, in partnership with our premier client, seeks a Senior Cloud Architect to lead enterprise cloud strategy across AWS, GCP, and Azure. You will define scalable, cloud-first architectures, govern standards, and guide implementation across teams and environments.

The role combines strategic advisory with hands-on execution, focusing on cost optimization, infrastructure as code, and containerized workloads with Kubernetes. You will shape roadmaps and ensure alignment with back-office systems.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in cloud architecture, focusing on multi-cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Hands-on experience with IaC (Terraform required; CloudFormation preferred) and containerization (Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with cloud-native architectures, PaaS, and design of enterprise-scale solutions.
• Experience collaborating with business and development teams to translate requirements into deployable solutions.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain enterprise cloud architecture across AWS, GCP, and Azure.
• Align cloud platforms with practice capabilities and internal/back-office systems.
• Establish architecture standards, frameworks, and best practices across the organization.
• Drive cloud cost optimization strategies including resource utilization and governance.
• Design scalable, cloud-native platforms focusing on performance and reliability.
• Lead efforts to reduce technical debt and transition to cloud-first architectures.
• Develop and implement IaC strategies using Terraform and AWS CloudFormation.

• Provide hands-on support for architecture validation, implementation, and code reviews.
• Guide multi-cloud strategies including workload placement and cross-platform design decisions.

Optomi in partnership with our premier client, is seeking a Senior Cloud Architect to lead the design and alignment of cloud architecture across enterprise platforms, ensuring consistency between practice capabilities and internal/back-office systems. This role will focus on establishing scalable, cloud-first frameworks across a multi-cloud environment (AWS, GCP, and Azure), while driving standardization, governance, and cost optimization.

The ideal candidate is a senior-level architect who can operate as both a strategic advisor and hands-on contributor—defining enterprise architecture, guiding implementation, and ensuring alignment across teams and environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and maintain enterprise cloud architecture across AWS, GCP, and Azure environments
• Ensure alignment of cloud platforms across practice capabilities and internal/back-office systems
• Establish and enforce architecture standards, frameworks, and best practices across the organization
• Drive cloud cost optimization strategies, including resource utilization, rightsizing, and financial governance
• Design scalable, cloud-native platforms with a focus on performance, reliability, and maintainability
• Lead efforts to reduce technical debt and transition to modern, cloud-first architectures
• Develop and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) strategies using Terraform and AWS CloudFormation
• Architect and support deployment of containerized workloads using Kubernetes (EKS, AKS) and PaaS solutions
• Provide hands-on support for architecture validation, implementation, and code reviews
• Guide multi-cloud strategies, including workload placement and cross-platform design decisions
• Act as a senior technical advisor, influencing cloud strategy, tooling, and long-term platform direction

Required Experience

• 8+ years of experience in cloud architecture, with a focus on multi-cloud environments (AWS, GCP, and Azure)
• Strong hands-on experience with:
• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform required; CloudFormation preferred)
• Containerization and orchestration (Kubernetes, EKS, AKS)
• Cloud-native architectures and PaaS solutions
• Designing and implementing small or enterprise ready solutions in multi-cloud environments
• Interviewing and collaborating with both business and development teams to understand and interpret requirements, offering solutions to requests that will best meet organizational requirements and needs
• Implementing requirements into dev, test/QA, and production environments
• Experience working in SOC, ISO, and other highly regulated and controlled environments
• Has at least functionally been in the role of architect but has also recently been someone who has been acting as a senior cloud engineer
