Job summary

Defense Acquisition Support Services (DAS) is seeking a Software Architect, Journeyman to support the U.S. Army DCGS Follow-On at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland. The role requires an active Top Secret/SCI clearance and is onsite.

The candidate will design, develop, and sustain mission-critical software, build cloud infrastructure, implement DevSecOps, and manage CI/CD pipelines with Docker and Kubernetes in a secure environment. Collaboration with government stakeholders is essential.

Qualifications

• Active Top Secret/SCI clearance required.
• Degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or related field; 5 years of experience may substitute.
• 3 years of relevant experience within the last 5 years.
• Experience in Agile or DevSecOps environments.
• Hands-on Docker, Kubernetes, container orchestration, and lifecycle management.
• CI/CD pipelines using Git, Bitbucket, Jenkins or similar tools.
• Cloud infrastructure, IaC, and automated deployment.
• Proficiency in PowerShell or Batch scripting.
• Security-first software development and automated testing.
• Experience with front-end development and UI design.
• Strong documentation and cross-team communication.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, integrate, test, and maintain software applications in Agile/DevSecOps.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Develop and manage cloud-based infrastructure and hosting services.
• Design and implement IaC to automate provisioning and configuration.
• Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines with relevant tools.
• Manage source code, branching, reviews, builds, and releases.
• Deploy and maintain containerized apps using Docker/Kubernetes.
• Manage Kubernetes lifecycles including deployment, scaling, and monitoring.
• Embed security into SDLC with automated scans and secure coding.
• Perform testing, analysis, and troubleshooting to resolve issues.
• Monitor performance and implement corrective actions.
• Create and maintain architecture diagrams, docs, deployment guides.
