Job summary

Defense Acquisition Support Services is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to support the U.S. Army's DCGS-A follow-on at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland.

The role focuses on Java software development, Kubernetes, containerization, and systems engineering to deliver reliable, scalable applications for intelligence operations. Candidates must hold an active Top Secret/SCI clearance and be available to work on-site at APG.

Qualifications

• Active Top Secret/SCI clearance required.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or related field.
• Nine years of software engineering experience within the last 15 years.
• Hands-on Java, Kubernetes, and containerization experience.
• Experience designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining software applications and supporting systems.
• Strong analytical, communication, documentation, and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, implement, and maintain software applications, utilities, development tools, and diagnostic systems.
• Develop and support Java-based applications within enterprise and mission-critical environments.
• Deploy, configure, manage, and troubleshoot containerized applications using Kubernetes and containerization technologies.
• Perform functional and empirical analysis of software systems to evaluate performance, reliability, and operational effectiveness.
• Participate in developing and executing software test strategies, test plans, and validation procedures.
• Identify, analyze, and resolve complex software engineering problems involving application performance, integration, and system functionality.
• Collaborate with software developers, systems engineers, and technical stakeholders to support software development and implementation activities.
• Support software integration, troubleshooting, testing, and continuous improvement throughout the development lifecycle.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, software design specifications, and testing reports.
• Apply software engineering best practices to ensure applications meet technical requirements and operational objectives.
