Job summary

Komatsu America Corp. in Tucson, AZ seeks a Software Architect to shape the FrontRunner autonomous haulage platform architecture.

You will define and evolve large-scale systems that operate 24/7 in harsh mining environments. You will collaborate with engineering leaders, product managers, and domain experts to balance technical excellence with safety, reliability, and business needs, while mentoring engineers and guiding technical direction.

Qualifications

10+ years of professional software engineering with architecture leadership.
Experience delivering production distributed systems at scale.
Strong Java development background and modern practices.
Proven ability to influence across teams and leadership.

Responsibilities

Define and guide architecture for autonomous software platforms.
Establish scalable, resilient system architectures for current and future needs.
Collaborate with engineering leaders, product management, and domain experts to translate strategy.
