Job summary

Bright Vision Technologies is seeking a Software Architect to guide high-level design and oversee modernization of legacy systems. The role requires coordinating across teams, implementing solutions, and developing tax processing components.

Hybrid work arrangement with on-site requirements in Albany or Manhattan after initial week. The candidate will lead design decisions, drive integration efforts, and mentor junior staff while ensuring production support and testing activities are performed

Qualifications

• 84 months with Government Taxation systems including design and end-user support.

Job Title: Software Architect

Location: Albany, NY12227 (Hybrid)

Salary Range: $100,000- $150,000 Annually

Duration: Long Term

The resource would need to report on-site (Albany) for the first week. Position location is hybrid 50% on-site either Albany or Manhattan.

Job Summary:

The selected candidate will be responsible for all phases of the System Development Life Cycle for complex projects. The responsibilities will include both new development as well as maintenance tasks. Specific tasks will include:

• Guiding the technical design for modernization of legacy systems.
• Coordinating the technical solutions among various technical support groups.
• Making changes in multiple systems in real time to enable changes requested by user group.
• Implementing technical solutions.
• Developing tax processing system components and maintaining existing processing systems.
• Supporting production tasks including analysis of issue, proposing and implementing solutions for defect resolution.
• Coordinating with development team on development activities and integration testing.
• Developing technical design documents and program specifications.
• Guiding requirements gathering sessions.
• Guiding the analysis of requirements and system design work.
• Coding and performing unit and integration tests of programming assignments.
• Writing and tuning SQL.
• Supporting user testing efforts.
• Performance tune new and existing applications.
• Mentoring less experienced staff.

Mandatory Qualifications:

Software Architect - Makes high-level design choices and dictates technical standards, including software coding standards, tools, and platforms. Designs multi-leveled architecture or component interactions of a large-scale software system.

Expert 84+ Months:

Candidate is able to provide guidance to large teams and/or has extensive industry experience and is considered at the top of his/her field.

Requested Qualifications

• 84 months experience with Government Taxation organization which includes technical design, development, maintenance and end user support of tax or audit systems.
• 84 months experience in designing processes (Choreography/Orchestration Processes) using technologies Like WebSphere Process Server (WPS), IBM CP4BA (BAW - IBM Cloud Pak for Business Automation), IBM CP4I (IBM Cloud Pak for Integration).
• 84 months experience in Design, Development and Management of Business Rules Architecture System involving Rules Entry UI System invoking portable Runtime Engine deployable in WPS (WebSphere Process Server), Decision Service Design and Development using ADS (Automation Decision Services - IBM Cloud Pak for Automation CP4BA).
• 84 months experience with SOA Component Development Architecture using J2EE Technologies (JMS, CTG, IBM EAD4J, JADE, Spring Framework, BPEL, IBM SCA/SDO Component Architecture) and working with develop tools like Elastic, Jenkins, GIT lab and JFROG.
• 84 Months Experience in system analysis and design experience for multi-tiered transactional systems and writing technical documents for multifaceted component-based systems.
• 84 months experience with Java Programming in an IBM Development Environment using IBM’s Rational Application Developer (RAD), WebSphere Integration Developer (WID) and using WebSphere Application Server (WAS)/ WebSphere Process Server as Runtime Environments.
• 36 months experience using IBM Red hat OpenShift Cloud Platform and Micro Services Architecture.
• 84 months of experience in Java Messaging Services using IBM MQ Series, IBM CP4I MQ (IBM Cloud Pak for Integration).
• 84 months of experience in IBM DB2 Data Modeling, creating logical Data Models, performance tuning of applications interacting with database systems.
